Published by: Program Componente I, INCT4GP
Date: April 26, 2009

First of all we want to highlight the level of participation in this first call for proposals organized by the Program Component I, ICT4GP.
A total of 17 proposals from different institutions and countries around the region was received.

After a tough selection process, given the quality of the proposals, we are pleased to announce the proposals selected are the following:

- "Identification and systematization of the Impacts of the Public Procurement System Reform in the Municipal level of Chile -Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (Chile).

- “The Political Economy of the Public Procurement System Reform in Argentina: The Case of the Province of Buenos Aires” – CIPPEC (Argentina).

- The relationship between the overall process of reform and restructuring of the state and reform of Public Procurement Systems: Case Studies from Central America and the Caribbean - Arias Foundation (Costa Rica).

These proposals are consistent with the objectives of analyzing the political economy of reforms, considering the various aspects of Public Procurement Featured in the call. The proposals discussed cases in different national contexts (Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Jamaica, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic). They also address the subject of study at different State levels, from municipal to national. Finally, we have sought to analyze cases with different levels of advancement and development of Public Procurement Systems.

Considering that one of the objectives of this activity is to generate a regional network of researchers and institutions to work around the many problems associated with government procurement, we have published below the received proposals and the contact information of the institutions and researchers as a means to enhance the exchange and promote collaboration in future proposals.

New calls for proposals will soon be sent, for which we look forward  to counting with your participation in this next opportunity.
